MyGym Updates… What’s Coming!

Since the turn of the year, we’ve barely had a chance to catch a breath here at MyGym. Many of you will have noticed a few of the early changes, so I thought I’d take the time here to update you with what has happened, and what’s about to happen over the next few weeks and months…

Personal Training at MyGym

You may have noticed a couple of new faces at the gym recently. We’ve been joined by Terri and Keeley. They’re both fantastic personal trainers with a wealth of experience in the fitness industry. They’re offering both their personal training services and classes, so get in touch with them if you want to take that next step with your fitness!

Terri competes in May Thai, so offers high intensity combat style classes for both men and women. These include 1-1 instruction, pad blast sessions and general strength and conditioning. She’s ready and available to turn you into a machine!

Keeley helps to inspire and empower women using strength and conditioning. She helps women build their gym confidence and develop a positive body image. Her business is called Lioness Conditioning and she works exclusively with women.

Classes

You’ll have noticed that our class timetable has increased in both the range of classes, but also the number. We’ve introduced Pilates into the timetable, as well as Yoga, Pad Blast sessions, circuit training sessions even kids kickboxing on a Sunday morning!

There’s likely to be the introduction of a weightlifting class for kids, helping children to learn safe and effective lifting technique.

We’re going to keep an eye on the classes and see what is popular and what we can offer to our members, so if you have any suggestions, send them our way! We won’t be doing Les Mills stuff… they charge a fortune for licensing and it’s just not our model.

Equipment updates

This is the big one…

We’re always on the lookout for more equipment, but most importantly, the right equipment to enhance the member experience. Just buying more kit for the sake of it doesn’t make any sense. All we end up doing then is spending a fortune (gym equipment is VERY expensive!) and not improving the product for our members.

Despite that, we’ve identified a few items we’d like to add, based on watching the gym, seeing what we need and how best to structure the facility.

In the coming weeks we’re going to be making changes. The cardio equipment is going to be switched around in terms of its position. We’re adding a hip thrust, a new area with rubber floor tiles for dumbbells, a decline bench, an extra set of heavier hex dumbbells, another air bike, and an extra (lighter) sled.

This is the most significant additional investment we’ve made for a long time, so we hope you’ll enjoy the new equipment. It’s based on watching what members use, member feedback, gym traffic, available money etc.

Plans are being made…

As a team we’ve spoken about new ideas for the year in terms of events and get togethers. A big part of what make MyGym the best gym in Stockport is the strength of community we have built. We don’t take that for granted, so this year will see the return of our free member BBQ’s, we’re going to run open days and there are some plans for fitness events and teams bubbling away in the background… so watch this space!

Once again, thank you for being members and supporting us. We appreciate every single one of you!
